balancer shaft

I'm thinking on getting a klr as my next bike, but there is just one thing stopping me! I have read that klr's can suffer with balancer shaft problems, I have also read about people putting huge amount of mile's on them with no problems.
Can you guy's help to put me in the picture as to what to expect?

thanks
Mark

As far as I know, if you keep the balancer chain tensioned as per the maintenance spec, there'll be no problems.

Thanks kurt, that might explain why some people seem to have problems and others no problems at all.
thanks again
