R850/1100/1150GS Project VND panniers for sale: Estonia
The fact that is my first post in who knows how long just goes to underscore the fact that my overlanding aspirations haven't borne fruit!
All that to say that the panniers that served me so well in S. America have sat, unused, unoverlanded, ever since a nice lady on the Hogarth Roundabout, W. London decided my trusty R1150GS should say hi to a crash barrier, sump-first.
Luckily, the panniers were tucked away at the time, but the net result is I'm not likely to use them as intended.
One of you might.
The panniers in question are Project VND Worldbeater Panniers, by Vern: a member of UKGSer, back in the day, and perhaps here too...
This particular pair were his own that he sold to me when I was panicking about an approaching departure date, and a lack of luggage. The attention to detail and the quality of the workmanship are something to behold. Tsiklonaut, on here, used them too, IIRR, on his RTW trip on 1100. Yes, I'm somewhat biased, but I really do think these are some of the best panniers money can buy if you want hard luggage for one the models above.
Adapt the mounting brackets, and it might fit the 1200 too. Mainly it is the angle and side of the exhaust that dictates this.
I can take measurements if needed.
So I've you'd like to acquire said pair of panniers, or are curious, drop me a PM and let's talk.
What I can unequivocally say is that they are way tougher and better thought-through than something catalogue-bought, and will be way cheaper, being used.
I'm in Estonia, but willing to ship.
The pair, plus all the mounting gubbins: €450, excl shipping.
I can send more pics if needed, but here are a couple to give you an idea:
