Hello,

despite trying (& clearly failing) to ignore all thoughts of far off lands, I'm definitely interested in saying hello.

London - Magadan is next on the list, but as I have a 9 month old baby at home and insufficient gaffer tape to strap his car seat to my bike, my departure date may not even be this decade.

Still, to assist with the day dreaming whilst at my desk it would be good to meet up and listen to your plans.

Brian

Hi Hibble,
Yes I will certainly be there! I will try to come early. My husband will join me a bit later as he will go pick up my travel bike, bought on eBay. A honda XR125! Adequate for Mongolia

Anyway, I will try to print some stuff to help find me/us if I have time.
Guys you can see how I look on my website anyway.
Hope to catch up with lots of people. I look forward to it and exchange tips!

I tried to reserve an area, but they asked for payment for it. As I don't know how many people are coming it is not easy either.

So I suggest that the 1st to arrive grab a big table. I have been assured it is not usually too busy.

If you have a HU T-shirt it is a good time to use it. I don't !

But I count on some of you to have helmets so you will become the "Magnets" for everyone else!

I will try to come early and put a big sheet with "Horizons Unlimited " on the table.

I can't make it. :-(

Something about me and HUBB meetings; never seem to get there. In my defence, I'm traveling to Moscow. :-)

If any of you pick up any titbits regarding shipping bikes from Europe to Mongolia, could you send them through? Modman and I are planning shipping bikes out there in 2015, flying out and riding them back as neither of us feel able to get enough time away from our businesses to ride both ways.

Best option we have so far is shipping Warsaw to Ulaanbatar with ADVFactory (€1,100) but we've heard that you can ship on the Trans Siberian Express. Anyway, anything that anyone has that might point us in the right direction, please let us know. Have a great time tomorrow and good luck on your travels.

As i will be in civilian clothes ( not riding so I can have a drink ) I will be the long haired brunette clutching Ted Simon's Dreaming of Jupiter book.
If you see me all alone come say hello!

See you all tomorrow!

First to arrive!
Get into the pub, and on a room on the left hand side, there are three tables together and one helmet in the middle.

Hi everyone, Saturday was awesome, thank you all for coming!
I had a great time! How best to spend a Saturday afternoon, than in a quite pub with fellow travellers?!

We definitely should do those meetings more often. As usual I just did not have time to talk to everyone! Next time!

linzy thanks for the mascots, they will make it to Mongolia.
Hebbo, nos vemos durante nuestro viajé! Great to meet you!
Alex thanks for the advice on my panniers frame.

Hope to see you all soon, maybe before we go. Or on the road.
Ride safe!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
