Twin mods for trip

people, i've got one of the few Twins in USA and am thinking of taking it on my next stage in south america. its a '93, originally from germany. some questions. 1- how much horsepower does this model have. It has a giovanni or something after market exhaust. 2- what modifications should i consider doing.
I'm thinking of the following;
Hi shield. Acerbis hand guards. Stronger front springs. stronger rear spring and/or shock. two plugs for vests. Throttle lock. Custom 2 up seat with backrest for wife. Bigger gearing for better hiway economy. Pirelli MT60's with monster tubes and slime. Give me some comments about this.

Hi Tom,

congratulations to your bike. There really just a few in USA.
For a lot of infos have a look at www.atic.org with international Africa Twin-mailinglist, faq, links, accessorylist & more.

I own a ‚93 RD07 . It has nearly 60 HP.
Changes I made; GPR- exhaust, Steelflex brakehoses, mainstand (original Honda), Acerbis-handguards, Scottoiler, safety bars, stronger front springs, shortway gasthrottle, Give-screen, K&N-Airfilter, 25 mm handlebar extensions (great), customized seat.

A lot of this stuff you’ll find at www.africanqueens.de and www.touratech.de (German, with prices) or www.touratech-usa.com (english, no prices).
Next week I will get a Mikuni petrolpump (76 EURO). Mine stopped twice now.
