Hi Oz - I've got the info somewhere at home (not there at the moment)... the US spec bike (presumably the one they tested on the ADV rider link) has much lower output than the EU and AUS versions - which have a 55/60w headlight, not the weedy 35w enduro style lamp...
If your heated grips need 50w more, then I would say you'll need to upgrade the stator - try Electrex World here in the UK which is where I got my 200w and corresponding Reg/Rec unit. Great customer service...
I converted my whole loom to run DC via the new reg/rec and a battery (for the e-start kit), far simpler than having the lights on AC and other things on DC (why Honda, why?!)
For info, the Ricky Stator '200w' ones are actually 2 x100w I believe, using one half circuit for headlights and the other for everything else... too much bother knowing which wire is which in my opinion... also I've heard that quality control can be a bit hit and miss with their products?
