Dommie starting problems ?

Can anyone help with a problem, i've got an 89 dommie that refuses to start off the kickstart, it will start off the button after much coaxing and cussing. it would give me piece off mind to know that i can rely on it if needed. any suggestions would be much appreciated
cheers RobertH

a dommie is as hard to start as a xr,
first make sure the carburetor is adjusted properly then you need to learn to start with the kick start. you have to learn when the piston is at Top Dead Center, you want to kick it just before TDC
