Africa Twin - rectifier, repairable?

Hi team,

I'm currenlty in Manali and I'm fairly certain my rectifier has packed in (I have yet to do the prescribed Honda testing). If I ride with my lights on, then stop, the bike does not have enough juice in the battery to start the bike again. (I replaced the battery in Islamabad) If I ride without my lights on it will start again no prob. A mate has described these symptoms to a Honda mechanic who reckons it is most likely to be the rectifier. The mechanic also mentioned that if I continue to ride it as is I am risking damaging the alternator, which, from what I understand, would imobilise the bike.

My question is this, has anyone repaired their rectifier (I understand there are a series of diodes in there)?

Thanks in advance,

Pete
