Africa Twin: Re-jetting or not? - Horizons Unlimited

Im searching for jetting/set up advice for my Africa twin.

Should I need to adjust the jetting on my Africa Twin now Ive fitted an Arrow 'dakar' silencer and K&N air filter?

My priority is fuel economy and smooth running in preference to increased power etc. (The pipe is light and small, and the K&N makes filter maintainance a breeze)

The bike feels a bit rich and is suffering from poor starting. Could just be the winter blues here in the UK. Roll on Summer!

This is a common set up so I expect someone will have had their bike analysed properly.

Also: any recommended shock servicing/repair places in the UK/South of England>

Grateful for any help.

There's no need to re-jet.

I had a problem with my old AT running rich which turned out to be one of the choke bodies seizing. This was due to the bike being left idle for a long period and is apparently quiet common with modern fuel on this model. A good dose of WD40 is the cure.

I,ve not long since finished in the bike game (because it was killing my love of bikes)and i think you will find that the running rich problem was there before you changed the pipe and filter. sticky choke is a common problem for AT's so strip it and give it a clean (it's the choke plunger)and you should find its gone
