Wild Camping; rest of Europe???

So on the subject of wild camping; France seems a doddle, does anybody have some info/ideas on the rest of Europe? Or is it the same old out of site rule?
Is there anywhere where it is absolutely taboo?

When riding up from Greece along the Adriatic coast, in to Hungary and then up through Austria, Czech Republic, Germany and to Denmark we free camped whenever not staying with friends. No troubles whatsoever were encountered. Just remember the usual things and you should be ok.

Rod,
so far, I've been wild camping in most countries between Portugal and Russia, even in Switzerland or Austria, and I haven't had a problem. Stay out of sight, no litter, no noise and you'll be fine. Avoid national parks. For me, Croatia was the most difficult country for camping.

But fortunately Croatia has hundreds of "legal" camping, not necessary to camping in the "wild"

In Norway it's a law given right to wild camp and to roam freely. Go ahead, help yourself with space. Fenced-in properties is not included, though.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
