Weigh Bridge in the North of England?
Hi,
My 110 has been on a diet, but not lot much weight I think. I want to get its fully laden weight, but can't find a weigh bridge anywhere - I think the trucks have scales built-in nowadays. My mates 2.5T ramp didn't cope easily with the 110 when empty.
Does anyone know where there's a weigh bridge in the North East, around Newcastle, Durham, etc.?
Cheers,
Nick.

Nick,
Every pubic waste disposal depo should have a weigh bridge. They can tell you the weight for free, or give a printout for a fiver. At least that's how it works at the depo near me.

Thanks Roman,
I know the local dump doesn't have one, but I'll call some of the others nearby - I didn't think of that.
Cheers,
Nick.

I just spoke to the very helpful people at Durham County Council ( http://www.durham.gov.uk/) and there is one just off the A19 at the A181 Junction (Wingate turnoff) - the "Wellfield Weighbridge".
Head east on the A181 and it's on the north side of the road.
Don't know the opening hours etc. As I've not been year. Hope my 110 doesn't need more of a diet. How many carbs are in Aluminium anyway...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
