hi,
iv'e just bought a 1990 dommie in top condition and my girl friend and i are off to live in india for a couple of years. after reading cris scotts book he suggests lowering the compression to accomodate low octane fuels. can any one tell me if that will be needed in india. thankyou tom

I think the quality of fuel can vary enormously in India. What might be a better solution is to bring a bottle of "octane booster" and use it as you need it.

I think it's probably more important to use a fuel filter, as a lot of the fuel you'll buy will be contaminated with specks of dirt, rust, etc.
