Shipping Mexico

Hello to everyone. I am looking for a agent in Mexico to airfreight my bike back to Europe. I have had a quote of $2000 from Mexico City to London Heathrow but this way too much. I have just finished Norh to south and vice versa. Unfortunately America is not option due to visa stuff. Any help would greatly appreciated.

The first person I would ask is Stefan Knopf.

He might not do it but he would surely have advice.

I shipped a bike with him 9 years ago, Florida to Heidelburg, Germany on a boat. And he arranged the return , Germany to Denver by air with UPS or FedEx (I can't remember which).

Shipping across the Atlantic is expensive though, your $2000 doesn't sound out of line to me. If I recall correctly it was $1200-1500 ten years ago.

Agree with Shu, the price isn't out of line.
I'd also suggest James Cargo or Motofreight, both of which advertise here and support HU.
NO one is going to be a LOT cheaper though, so brace yourself!

For airfreight that's not bad, if not yet included count in a couple hundred $ on arrival.

If time is not too much of an issue, try RORO.

For RORO you can ship from Veracruz with Wallenius Willhelmsen.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
