light my fire (fire stick)
This is a useful tool for fire lighting in any conditions. I find that maya dust is expensive and not that easy to ignite but cotton beauty pads for make up removal work great you just pull the pad apart so the fibres are revealed and one spark ignites it, they tend to melt but flame up well. You just need to keep them dry.

I've been using one for years, brilliant. Lighters are useless when it's freezing or blowing a gale. The fire stick lights my coleman stove first time, every time, even if it's wet. Worth every penny.

Yeah the fire stick works great just £6. I used a turbo flame for a while but didnt find it any better than a standard bic, zippos are an icon but you always have to fill em up and they stink. Good old matches are fine until its windy or wet, unless you have life boat matches but i save those for emergencies.

Magnesium Fire starter
I also use a 'Magnesium Fire Starter', scrape a load of magnesium into shavings ( put onto a leaf on a pile of tinder) and a quick flick with the 'Flint' side of the tool and 6000 degrees Instant fire! Ta very Much!
 Have lit about 100 fires with it and it is only about 2% worn out Martyn
