You wus robbed !

500 quid ! I used to dream of having a 500 quid bike !

This year I rode an old Yamaha to Nelson BC AND rode back .Total km = 3500 give or take .
Cost of bike , swapped a Leatherman [ $80 ] for 2 bikes and bought another for $100 .Gave one bike to my son ,so $100 + $80 divide by 3 = $60 per bike .took engine out of one bike to put in other [ for no other reason than one had a lot of instant gasket on it ] so therefore resulting bike cost of $120 .
Pair of megaphones = $120 .
Points $15 .
Total purchased = $255 CDN
Like your bike my alternator conked out .

Refurbished tank and seat failed to arrive ,so I haven't included them in the cost .But I did brush paint the tank .

Next year - Alaska !

Now if I could get a newspaper to publish my story I could recoup my expenses .
" But if you tell that to the young folk of today , they wouldn't believe you !"

Smile Not me, guv.

Just to clarify, Dodger, the article is about Kevin Ash, the regular motorcycling journalist for the Daily Telegraph in the UK. I have no affiliation. After the recent discussions on BMW reliability here, I thought it might be of interest to the BMW riders.

OK point taken .
I don't think the reliability of older beemers has ever been in doubt .
Bearing in mind the technology of that era .
