HELP ...fuel pump info needed.

Hi everyone, BMW 650 dakar 2001. Travelled 65 miles no problem, then just died, slowed to a stop,AA man eventually hit pump with a hammer, started for 3 secs no problem then died. Electrically has a spark, turns over and has compression. Can nt hear the fuel pump working on ignition though.

Does any one have any other ideas, other than the obvious that I ve described. Sick of cleaning the fuel system and checking.... any ideas??

Thanks Guys.DC
