centrestand R80G/S 1982
My r80 is to heavy to lift up on its centre stand when loaded,I can't seem to get enough leverage. Is there a centrestand with more leverage I can purchase that will solve the problem, or will I need to have something welded to the existing stand.Has anyone done this. Thanks in advance.

Hi
I know Ernie at Overland Solutions has made a number of changes to both centre and side stands on the BMWs. Drop him an email to see if he can point you in the right direction. www.overland-solutions.com Julio |

I ended up butchering my centerstand to get it to fit around a supertrapp muffler. If you go the self fix-it approach, just be aware of the long rubber plugs that run up the tubes; they went further then I expected, and hindered welding. Other then that, it is not an especially complex system. A bit of thought and some welding/ grinding equipment should yeild good results. If I were to do it again, I would keep my stock centerstand as a template and build a new one from scratch.
