1150GS overheating
I've just bought this bike, and the temp guage has gone one bar below the red. The traffic didn't warrant that type of behaviour.
Could anybody with a workshop manual have a look and tell me what the troubleshooting says. I've ordered my copy but it will take a couple of weeks to arrive. Regards Richard

not sure on your driving conditions but in hot climates e.g australia, asia and slow traffic you will see the temp rise quite a lot.... nearly had the jackpot on mine the other day in bangkok. do not worry too much but if you are concerned pull over and stop and let the bike cool down, so long as you have plenty of good oil it will stand that temp for a while without any problems.
one other thing, twice in india i suffered loss of clutch feel when the temp rose to high levels, apparently they can do that sir under extreme conditions...says the helpful BMW dealer. feel returned once on the move and with a cooling engine...but it was a bit worrying.
