Renting bike for crossing Chukotka from ocean to ocean

Hi! My name is Anatoly
Last year I traveled to Chukotka and left my bike there. This year I planned to fly there in June and get out of Bilibino on a barge on the Kolyma river to Magadan during the flood. Then I decided to continue in Chukotka and fly to August to drive from Bilibino to Egvekinot. But the plan was changed again - and now I buy a second motorcycle, send it to the Irkutsk region, where I will begin to move towards Chukotka.

If you still want to travel with me, then I have a second prepared motorcycle in Chukotka to cross this region together.
Conditions - you need to fly on August 1 in Bilibino, motorcycle rental with everything you need: bags, tent, sleeping bag, motorcycle maintenance tool ($150 per day), go together to Egvekinot, where you fly home. Bilibino-Pevek-Bilibino. From one ocean to another above the Arctic circle. On all 2-3 weeks. Much will depend on the weather. The journey is extreme, the experience is mandatory. The main difficulty is the rivers that need to be crossed. I remind you that for Chukotka you need to do permission in advance with an invitation, I will help with this.
Here is my trip to Chukotka

https://bikeandphoto.ru/en

Begin in the town of Bilibino. Chukotka is the most northeastern region of Russia. The whole territory of the region is a permafrost zone. In some areas where we go does not grow any trees or even bushes. Only tundra. In Bilibino, where we will begin there is even a forest, is an oasis))). To warm up, we will go 250 km to the village of Anyuisk. It is a good dirt road with bridges over the rivers. Good to get used to a motorcycle. Will stop at abandoned mines for the extraction of gold, go through a mountain pass Steep, view village Anuysk. This is a warm-up for 2 days. Going back to Bilibino and waiting for good weather to go towards Egvekinot. Come out of the valley, where the city of Bilibino and go to the top of the hills with a very beautiful road. In about 50 km there will be the first major river to be crossed. Then these rivers will be one after another. Crossing some of them is very difficult. On the largest rivers we may have to wait for trucks that can help us move deep rivers. If there is bad weather and rain. Rivers rise very quickly. And even truckers on trucks have to wait and live a few days by the river to sleep water. The largest rivers flow in the Chaun lowland, where rivers flow into the ocean. This is the territory of wild deer, there are a lot of them. We have to overcome 400 km from the river Palyavaam where the road diverges into 2 directions. In plentywood and Egvekinot. We are going to Pevek, the northernmost city of Russia, where only 5,000 people live. This is the coastal area of the Arctic ocean. Pevek is about 200 km away from the turn. We have to carry with us gasoline on the site Bilibino - Pevek with the expectation of 650 km each motorcycle. We also carry a supply of food for the week. In Pevek we look a very interesting place. Chukchi villages, beautiful mountains, ocean. You can go Hiking to the northernmost point of Chukotka - Cape Shelagsky. After a couple of days, if the weather is good, we go further towards the village of Egvekinot. We need to drive about 850 km, again there will be hundreds of rivers, steep mountain passes. We'll cross the Arctic circle and reach the Pacific. There's no connection on the road. We need to get a satellite phone. There are no gas stations, no settlements, no shops, no civilization at all.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
