France Alps (Nr Italy)

I bought a small studio apartment in the alps for skiing as well as a base for biking around the alps.
It's at Courchevel 1650.

Brand new and spotless as I refurbished it myself last year.
It has a double bed and a fold down single bed (similar to cabin on ferry)
I have pictures I can email but don't want to clog up Grants server on here

The roads are fantastic and you can get to Italy or Switzerland easily

I don't run it as a commercial venture apart from friends and family as it is so far away and vulnerable to abuse but would be inclined to trust the motley crew on here.

We're almost neighbours!

We've had a similar place in Alpe D'Huez for a number of years now. We let it out through an agency during the ski season but keep a few weeks for ourselves / friends etc. If you fancy a change of scenery maybe we could arrange a swap or something.

You're right about the roads, This is what I do with the apartment during the summer: Alpine Classic Bikes - classic motorcycle tours in the French Alps

The wonders of the internet. Only just spotted your reply sorry after someone contacted me re renting my place from this site!
Big changes afoot so may take you up on the offer if it still stands.
Trying to dismantle my current stupid life for a simpler version with less hassle and more time for myself and a part of that is some traveling on the bike (when I decide between the GS800/1200)

Hi Alan

Yes, depending on how you use the site it can be easy to miss new posts down in here in the bilges .

I've still got the flat and we were over there skiing a few weeks ago. It's with the agency now until the end of April and we "get it back" at the start of May. The income does pay the bills though.

Let me know what you think regarding a change of scenery. I'm still firming up what to do in the summer.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
