GPS Unit for Australia

I am looking at purchasing a GPS unit for my BMW R1200GS Adventure. Can anyone give me some ideas on easy to use, reliable and weatherproof units. I am also after street and track information for across OZ.

Any help would be great.

You may want to take a look at this: http://garmin.com/zumo/ It's designed
for bikes, and has all controls on the left side. Supposed to be glove friendly
also. Downside, don't think it's available until October, bit pricey @ $1000 usd.

On the Garmin Models they tend to mount of the battery and this works loose on rough travel, at the moment I would sugest from recent research the XL Explorer
This unit has the largest weather proof screen that I am aware of, removable batterys and 12v charge options, sd card port, and able to take the Australian Topo maps for awsome offroad action.. Cheers Allan

Sidetrack put it this way -
For the country - Magellen
For the city - Garmin

I have just used a Gramin 60Cx on the OCR. A very tough little unit. With Tracks4Australia on it it was very good for the country... But the key to the city travel is turn by turn nagigation maps .. and they are pricy! Check out the prices of the maps for your options.
