yes, very much appreciated mate. I still cant PM because of my low post count but if I need to quiz you more I'll get in touch. The plans have all been delayed for at least 6 months as I'm changing jobs at the moment. My choice of vehicle may well have changed by the time I get round to making a purchase as some of the engineering consulting jobs I've applied for pay significantly better than my previous budget had allowed for.

I really like the mounting arrangement on this magirus, similar in style to how I imagine a unimog works.

I reckon you'll be hearing a lot more from me in a while when my work starts. I'll be modelling the whole conversion in a programme like solidworks so that I can make sure that nothing fouls on the chassis/tryres, etc so I'll be needing as accurate an idea as possible of the flex I can expect.

For now I'm just reading as much as possible and talking to as many as people as possible so that when I finally get my act together I do everything right first time.

Wow I had to look back a long way to find any Bedford threads. Withams have currently got some refurbished Bedford MJ's - mine was one of them. It is reported they cost £10-12k to refurb and then have sat in an air-conditioned unit, then sent to Withams.
If you want a cheap Bedford be quick I don't think this will ever happen again.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
