Driving legally in Australia - Darwin
Driving legally in Australia
We’re due to land in Darwin this evening and were wondering if anyone has information about driving legally in the country. I understand the rules from state to state are different but gather we have to carry out the following: • Register the vehicle in the state / pay road tax • Have a vehicle roadworthy test • Obtain Insurance Also once these are completed do they cover you for all other states ? That sounds pretty similar to what I had to do when I shipped my bike into Perth, you might want to keep quiet if your tax or mot has run out, it is supposed to be legal in country of origin and if you have been out of the country for a while it is not possible. I believe some people have told them it was renewed by direct debit on the anniversary of first registration.
