UK reg Ex prepped TLC 80 in EAST AFRICA

FOR SALE IN EGYPT OCT 2012 TO APRIL 2013 OR ANYWHERE IN EAST AFRICA FROM AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2013 (see latest post)

In October/November it will be that time of year when our car comes out of duty free storage for the desert season. As this may be our last year in Cairo before heading further away, one option is to sell to someone heading South, hence....

UK Registered 1996 Toyota VX80 24 Valve Turbo Diesel Full time 4x4 Manual
8000 GBP

Central Locking, Climate Control, Cruise Control, Electric Seats, Electric Windows, Leather Seats, Power-assisted Steering (PAS), Sunroof, Tilt Steering Wheel, Tow Bar, Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Driver Airbag, Rear seat belts Arb bull bar ,Warn 16.5ti winch(HUGE) , National Luna Battery monitor + extra Optima deep cycle battery, Old Man Emu +2" heavy duty suspension and steering damper, Long range fuel tanks; 250 litres in total, Arb rear steel bumper with demountable hitch and swing-away spare wheel carrier, 6 x 8 spoke steel wheels with BFG All-Terrains, Safari snorkel with axle breathers, Wind Cheater aluminium roof rack + 1.4m wide Eezi Awn roof tent, 2 IPF spot lights 2 IPF flood lights 2 rear IPF work lights, Stereo with socket for ipod etc, Upgraded 3 core radiator as the original is only 2 core, Outback Safari Rear drawers, Secret Safe, Tuffy Security Cubby Box, Chequer plated rear door, 2 x 1m fibre class waffle boards, Safety Grill Partition between rear seats and boot, Several extra 12V powerpoints front and rear, 40 L Engel Fridge plus mounting board, 55L water tank plus tap that sits nicely over the rear drawers, large awning with poles.

All necessary tools/spares/camping gear included, up to a point.

New Clutch last year transformed the car.

Please see previous post for pictures, I’ll try and insert a link. All bodywork fixed since previous posts. HERE

I am uncertain of the complications of transferring from my carnet to a new carnet, but I hope it could be done simply at the Egyptian Touring Club which is the RAC equivalent here or at the duty free compound at the airport. Worst case scenario would be transferring on the exit/entry to Egypt. (OK I’m an optimist).

I bought the car unseen 7 years ago, and it worked out for me, so if anyone else is brave enough to take a chance on trust, please get in touch.

I’m on kindle only email for the next week, so please be patient awaiting replies. (I did mention that I’m an optimist)

Thanks for reading, if you made it this far through my somewhat garbled post. Cairo accommodation and desert trips included

James

Hi Jamie,

Is your car still available? If yes have you figured out how an overseas buyer could get it back to the UK?

Hi Jamie

Just following up Jon's post, was wondering if the vehicle is still available? I would be very interested in picking it up in Cairo for a trip heading south.
Thanks
Dan

TLC 80 in Egypt

Jamie

IS the car still for sale. We have a group that want to travel from Cairo to Nairobi in Feb 2013.

Your car has advantages - it is on the start line!

Please let me know if it is worth carrying on this line of investigation.

Many thanks

Latest Plan

Dear All,

While there remains a few possibilities for sale here or to people in neighbouring countries, it's looking probable that we will be heading S from Egypt in July. We plan to park up in Kenya or Tanzania and head for the himalayas for Oct/Nov.

The car is for sale at any point enroute or in near-by East African countries. The car will get the full works check up and new BFG AT before we leave here.
