S & E Africa travel blog

Hello Hubb - the missus and I have been on the road for about four months. We have our own vehicle, bought in SA, and this time around we're driving from Southern Africa to East Africa and back. We're in Kenya now, so far so good!

We just got back from Turkana and will head to Uganda in the next few weeks. I have a blog, mostly for friends and family back home, but if anyone is particularly bored and wants to check it out, here it the most recent post: https://stuckinlowgear.com/exploring-lake-natron/

I'm running a few weeks behind on the blog, but so it goes.

Thanks to all the Hubb-ers and the fantastic information that is shared here, I really appreciate it.

New blog post is up. Do people want me to post updates as they come, or are people subscribing to the blog?

Also when we readers do set a favorite, sometimes we will forget to reopen.

Guess we all would like to get updates noted here at hubb too!

Stunning pictures!

We are taking advantage of good wifi here and taking care of some business back home (taxes...). I'm just about ready to hit the road again!

If you spend any time on the western shore then Eliye Springs is a great stop, and you can take a boat trip to Central Island National Park - probably the least visited NP in Kenya.

Great Report

A great report and we did nearly the same route on our route back to Spain and were by Lake Turkana August 2019 - one of the highlights travelling the East of Africa.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
