Arrow Where to rent Royal Enfield in Kathmandu
Like the title says. Where is the best place to rent a reliable Royal Enfield in Kathmandu? Thanks.

B.S Motorcycle was the best I found when I was there last year in March. This was just before the earthquakes so not sure of the situation now but he still seems to be up and running. I rented the 500cc because I had a pillion and a friend of mine the 350cc. The bikes were in good condition and no real mechanical issues. Just do the usual checks when picking it up. Swingarm and wheel bearing have a hard time on the roads. I checked other places when I was there but found B.S the best. Fair prices and the guys are relaxed and easy to do business with. If I went back I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again.

I rented Aug - Sept 2015 from www.bikemandu.com had RE 350 and went 2up no probs. Youtube video search "g6snl"

I had bad experience with bikemandu in november 2014, and ended up renting in Thamel

I sent an email to Bikemandu about 3 weeks ago. No reply. Then I sent an email to B.S. Motorcycle, now about a week ago. Same result! I really don't get it why those guys make a website to convince people about their good service and other bullshit if they even don't take the time to reply an email.

I actually never aranged anything until I got to Kathmandu. I just turned up at his door and hired a bike for next day pick up. But it was very quiet everywhere since the quakes. He had about 10 bikes layed up in his yard. He clearly hadn't rented a bike for a while, since the quakes, we were there in Aug - September. Very happy with it all. But bikes were not hard to find in KTM we stayed in Thamel area twice and found hire shops all around our hotel (Kathmandu guest house)

Sorry to here it did not go well for you with Bikemandu, I had quite the oposite experiance.

I looked at you Ride report and recognise so much of it ! There is even a pic of a guy on a rickshaw I remember well, he was drunk or spaced out most of the time, great ride with him

Planning to go back again later this year, like yourself, I have more to see up higher into the mountains.

Thanks for the info! Kathmandu must have changed a lot since my last stay early 2008 when I returned from Sikkim on my own Bullet. I want to rent a RE for a full month now but don't want to lose too much time in KTM. That's why I would like to book the bike in advance. Trip is planned for October so there is still plenty of time. I'm also still considering to rent (or buy) a bike from Lali Sing in Delhi. The new Himalayan looks promising.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
