Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events such as this one (18 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or
to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and

We've had a code update on the HUBB that should fix any issues with the new right hand column. If the HUBB still "looks funny" please force a refresh to get the latest code update. We did this piste about three weeks ago. The piste description in Sahara Overland is still accurate and easy to follow.
One minor comment is that the main track does not come out at the campsite at Km 372 (N26.51.4 W11.45.1) near Smara as per the waypoints. Instead it comes out about 7kms west of this point on the tarmac road to Smara and follows a new road that the Moroccans appear to be building for the last ten kms before reaching the tarmac.
If you are running short of petrol you may also be find some from the commander of the military checkpoint at Hawza (km 277). We borrowed about five litres and with typical Arabic hospitality they refused to accept any payment.
If anyone also finds a digital pentax camera on the right hand side of the piste that was lost at km78 (N28.12.4 W09.47.1), I would be most appreciative!
