3th party insurance available at border Mauritania - Morocco ?

Hi to all,

Contrary to most of you guys (at least that's the impression I have ! ) I will be travelling South - North, leaving Senegal (where I live) in a LandCruiser HZJ 105 to cruise through the anti-atlas in August.

So, I will be travelling on a Senegalese registered car, and my concern is :

Is there third party insurance available for my kind of (african) licence plate at the border crossing between Mauritania and Morocco at the Western Sahara ?

And, eventually in addition : does anybody have knowledge about an insurance company providing third party insurance on this type of licence plate for Europe ? (a green insurance certificate).

Thanks for the feedback,

Cedric

I don’t know about a Senegalese registered vehicle and if it will make any difference but you can but Moroccan third party “tourist” insurance in Dakala (2nd story office called something Assurance as you go into town on left before the big hotel – or ask at the campsite as I guess they would know). There is also a good chance that someone will have set up an office at the boarder by now to cash in with the increased South / North flow of traffic.

As for insuring Senegalese reg vehicles in the EU, I have no idea but would start with contacting as many insurers as possible. It also might help if you can provide an EU address.

Hope this helps!
