Cambodia, bikeshop Phnom Penh

Hi there!

Just as I was getting depressed at finding a new chain and sprockets for my Transalp I ran into Dara's bikeshop. Great guy, 17 years of experience (although he's only 32), speaks fluently English and can handle almost everything. What he can't find, he'll modify.
Found him on saturday, brought the bike in on sunday and he fixed it same day with a modified rearsprocket, made of my old innerwork and a new ring of teeth welded onto it.
Had a couple of s with him and gave us some tips on dirttracks, as he also takes out tourists on dirt trips and does a lot of enduro and motocross himself.

You can use the GPS-coordinates from the closed adventure moto shop:

GPS: N 11 34.276 - E 104 55.739

It's the same street, cross the next crossing from the riverside. It's on the righthand side.

Nice to hear Dara is still around in Phnom Penh. I used to go to his shop to get my Suzuki DR250 fixed up, when I was in Cambodia (about 150 years ago). He was well known in the expat community back then for his general greatness.

Back then he was specialized in two-stroke crossers, I think he probably owned the fastest bike in Cambodia.

I changed here me tyres in a Gs1200 - i brought the tyres from Spain -. No problem. The owner wasnt at the shop at that time, he also organizes motorbike tours. His wife attended me and a kit did the work. So far so good.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
