Welcome to the HUBB. You'll find that people are more likely to provide useful information if you've done some initial research yourself, such as searching this site.

Searching for "Irkutsk train" on the North Asia subforum turned up several relevant threads, I suggest that you take a look.

Hi,

My name is Mike from England. I think I met you all in Ulaanbaatar. I gave Thierry my email address because at the time I was considering putting my bike on the train to Moscow too. I've arrived in Irkutsk yesterday and I'm now going to use the train to get me and bike to Moscow. Have you managed to do it? Are you still in Irkutsk?

Thanks,
Mike

Perhaps this will help

Michel:

I am looking at doing the same thing in a month or so. One of the best posts on the issue is not in the Northern Asia sub forum, but in the Planning, Trip Trip-transport forum. Search for this post by Oo-SEB-oO:

Shipping a bike from IRKUTSK to anywhere by train.

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...580#post431511

He posted the info in August, 2013, but I am surmising it is still valid. The post includes very helpful photographs depicting places you (and I) will need to find.

Hope this helps,

Best regards,

Dan

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
