my name is Naaveen Kotwal and i am presently working and residing in Jammu in north India.
Jammu is situated on the foothills of the Shivalik range, it s the gateway to the roads that lead to Kashmir, Ladakh and presents alternate routes for Ladakh via challenging adventures sections seldom taken by adventure travellers. Also it is the northern most railway station of India with an active freight service avaliable. There are several trains running to Delhi and to every nook and corner of the country.
Jammu is a medium sized slow paced town, an ideal place to rest, plan and prepare for the roads that lead to higher playgrounds of Ladakh, and western Himalayas. Ove rthe years i have realized that for riders coming into India from Pakistan side, usually end up at Amritsar, a very busy crowded area of India. Although it is the reason for a major attaraction, The Golden temple.
Jammu at about 200kms north of Amritsar offers an ideal location to stop over, before one heads for the higher reaches of Himalayas. I have initiated - 'Jammu ATW Hub' with the intention to provide free accomodation, food, parking, travel assistance, mechanical support, wi-fi, computer, laundry, camping equipment (for local use), medical facility, subsidized local transport, long term storage for motorcycles, ticketing and trip planning help, road assisstance... and a home away from home in Jammu.
Presently I have started this endeavour from my home here in Jammu and in future I will look for ways to help more and more adventure riders. I hope my effort will be supported and will eventually make a difference for all the wondeful riders who wish to pass through this part of the world.
