Comments:

The shipment of our small motorcycles (Honda CT110 'postiebike') was quoted at a promotional rate of 500 Malaysian Ringgit per bike, normal rate was around 660 MYR. This is for uncontainerized transport (including pannierbags)

The transport was including customs clearing on Sarawak side, and we cleared the bikes Peninsular side ourselves (easy enough, there is customs between Sarawak, Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia, but being the same country the Carnets did not have to remain with the bikes).

Customs clearing could have been done by an agent aswell (charges around 260 MYR per bike) but it was easy enough to take care of that ourselves

We met mr Kruka before shipping the bikes and went through the details, the bikes could have been on any (passenger) plane without luggage, but with pannierbags and topcase they were too bulky and had to go on a freighter. This ment bringing the bikes 3 days later than originally intended.

Clearing the bikes on Kuala Lumpur International Airport was a breeze. Asking around what document had to be printed/stamped/converted where let us from one helpfull friendly Malaysian to the other and within an hour we were able to ride away with a stamped Carnet and everything arranged.

No charges paid at KL side.

Overlanding from AUS to Europe does not have to go via Java and Sumatra and we are really happy we took the Sulawesi-Kalimantan-Sabah-Sarawak route.

Contacting MASkargo directly from their website put us in contact with the right people straight away.
