My partner and I are using Strand Travel to embark upon a 25 day crossing using a Grimaldi freighter, the Grande Amburgo on 13 February 2014 to sail from Belgium to Montevideo, Uruguay.  We will then venture down to Ushuaia and take an 18 month trip up the Americas to Alaska.  What better way to sink into our trip and experience life at a slow pace for a change.  Please feel free to visit and perhaps follow our blog http://www.twowheelednomad.com - many thanks, Lisa and Jason.

Compulsory visa requirements: None, but onward tickets from Uruguay are required. Passports should be valid until at least 6 months beyond the end of the voyage. You are reminded that it is your responsibility to ensure you are in possession of the correct documentation for each country visited. Yellow fever for Brazil. You should consult your GP about any other health recommendations. A medical questionnaire signed by your doctor is also required before boarding the ship.

 

Facilities on board include a dining area and gym.
