Comments:

Thought we should update the info held on Multimodal Freight. Mr Murali (mentioned in shipping info from others) has now left the company and the telephone number has changed. The prices for Sydney are still the same, but there are different shipping rates for Perth and Darwin. Shipping to Perth or Sydney from KL is much, much cheaper than to Darwin.

The shipping charges were: 40 USD/cbm to Perth 30 USD/cbm to Sydney 135 USD/cbm to Darwin Despite this, we shipped to Darwin. Our 2 boxes were 2cbm each (we removed the front wheels, handlebars, screens and front mudguards on our XT600s).

Shipping 170 USD/bike
Crating 250 RM/bike
Fumigation 100 RM/bike
Trucking 40 RM/bike
Customs 50 RM/bike
Bill of Lading 50 RM/bike
SMK 30 RM/bike LCL 40 RM/cbm = 80 RM/bike

Exchange rate was 3.8 RM = 1US$ The bikes will apparently take 20 days to get to Darwin (we'll let you know if they don't arrive!).

We had to take them along for crating about 5 days before the departure date. Our flights were 1226 RM each with Malaysian Airlines.
