Honda FMX650 - a good idea?
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Honda FMX650 'supermoto'?
I thought it might make a good basis for a low-cost, relitively lightweight 'all-road' touring dual-sport machine... and I've seen year-old ones in dealers for under £3000. The old Dommie engine (e-start) is sound as a pound of course, if not exactly thrilling - but more than capable of hauling bike, rider and modest luggage I would have thought? Nice wide 17inch rear wheel would take a 150 TKC80, and either run a 17 inch one on the front, or re-lace the wheel with a 19 inch rim and run that size? I reckon the Acerbis 24l tank for an XR650R could be made to fit without much trouble too... What do people think? Jenny (ok, so I love my Hondas) Mo xxx
