Paperwork to enter China
Hi all,
Does any one have recollection of the required permits and applications to enter China? I am looking for documents that are used to enter China. ie, but not limited to~: Customs entry documents. Customs exit documents The document that one fills in regarding the items within your vehicle that are inventoried. Temporary license plate documents. Provincial driving permits National driving permit If you want to PM me and ask for email, then no problem I really am working to try and break this monopoly that the Chinese tour guides have on driving through China with their extortionate prices. We have a good handle on things, and are looking at exactly the required costs. For example, we are reasonably sure the temporary import cost for ATA clearing the vehicle in, is about $240 USD. The more documents and forms I can get, the more progress we can make. |

Well, I had to supply a number of documents, including drivers licence details, passport of course, vehicle registration papers, photos of the bike front back and both sides.
Once they issued me with an LOI I was able to process my Chinese Visa Once I entered the country they issued me with temporary drivers licence and temporary rego plates Our group was never at any stage given access to the documents that were then filed on our behalf to the Chinese authorities. That is why it is a monopoly, we as outsiders do not get to see the paperwork process that goes on behind the scenes I know you will NOT be able to travel without a guide, the guide does not drive so you must supply him/her with transport, either by hiring a driver or placing him/her in a vehicle travelling with you, this is what we did. Good luck trying to beat the system, their inscrutable pockets are lined and even after we ticked all the boxes and jumped through all the hoops, we still had issues with them. Cheers TS

Hi TS,
Your quite right in there about lining their pockets. I (WE) want to blow it all wide open. Post all the pictures of the documents. Where to get them, and how to get them. Get all the pieces of the jigsaw, and with every ones concerted help, fix this monopoly good and proper. pm sent to TS. |
