Visa has a 60 day validity, is a 5 day transit visa double entry non extendable

Stay for free at the rear of the sheraton hotel see security when you arrive, happy hour at the Elephant bar, half price with nuts and and nibbly bits

Taxi to embassy N200 its next to American embassy

Cameroon Visa

I just turned up on friday afternoon asked nicely and they did it within 3 hours
Normally 48hrs
West African cfa 50,000 or N17,500, take the same documents as the Angolan embassy.

90 day validity, 30 day visa single entry

Congo Brazaville Visa

On the same Crescent/road as the cameroon high commision

Same day N13,000 next day N10,000
No supporting documents not even a photo
My visa is valid for 90 days from issue and is single entry 30day visa

I hope this helps, i didnt look for the gabon or DRC embassy you might be able to get a full set whilst enjoying the free camping.

Abuja is an ok place and so far ive really enjoyed Nigeria, its a very friendly place, why do folks give it such a bad name, but i guess thats why we travel, to see for ourselves, Don beileve the hype. Fresh vegggies are hard to come by and very expensive here in Abuja

Got my Nigerian visa in Bamako Mali

3 month single entry

Embassy is over the river towards Segou, the taxi driver knew it

No suporting documents neded apart from passport and vehicle docs

Next day

Prices varied for a Scotsman it was 31,500 cfa for someone from Great britain it was 50,000cfa, guess what i was though it took a bit of blagging.

I will in Abuja next week to get the Angolan visa. You mention that they required a photocopy of your carnet to obtain the transit visa. Do you know if this point is strictly enforced, as I am planning on entering Angola without a carnet.

Now in Abuja, got the 3 visas TNT originally posted about - thanks!

One other photocopy the Angolan lot wanted was my Yellow Fever cert., but fortunately they were happy for me to bring this in when I was collecting (I had the original with me). Otherwise I'd have been a few more days in Abuja - and yes, it's a nice spacious city (almost western), but also expensive!

Congo Braz actually charged me N15,000 (with a receipt) for same-day.

I did also locate Gabon and DRC. Gabon embassy has recently moved, but you probably won't want to go there anyway unless you've just won the lottery - they wanted N52,000 (yes, Niara, about US$340!).

DRC wanted N17,000, similar docs to Angola, with visas for onward country (and did ask for prior, but happy for only onward) and I think may have been after a cadeau for same-day service. But planning to get this one same time as Gabon in Yaounde now.

Great info on visas as Ian (English bloke) and I (Danish) currently are in Abuja staying at the Savannah Chum Chum hotel.
We had planned at staying for free at the Sheraton hotel but what a dissapointment. Staying there in a group might be ideal, as one man can stay behind looking out for the gear and bikes. Maybe staying there in a 4x4 is ideal. I had expected more camping friendly facilities.
Being one or two persons at the place is not ideal, no one to look after your things while you head for visas or enjoy a in the bar.
We went for a "cheap" hotel instaed (Euro 55 for a double room).

PS: Both our GPS's are out of order and I just lost all my charging equipment on the road, but the VFR manage to get through the 80 km piste in the Kwara area without problems, though it took us two days and several periods of dehydration.

Oh for f's sake - why!!!! because you are paying $100 a night for them? It is free, you get to shower in an air conned sports centre and have the best security money can provide in Abuja. Bloody magic for those of us who never stay in hotels. They are doing all of us a massive favour.

You can leave valuables with the head of security, a super nice guy as most of them are, only too helpful to make us feel welcome - you need a longer extension for a power socket, no problem, a guy turns up and wires one in...

Honestly what do you expect? A free suite?
