Amman, Jordan - Sprint Scooters

As motorbikes are still illegal in Jordan you will have difficulty finding someone in Jordan to sort out a probelm on your bike. But at least there are scooter dealers.

Chris at Sprint Scooters was very helpful and managed to get me back on the road. Having lived in Canada for 8 years he also speaks perfect English. His shop is located on the main road entering the industrial area where you find all the other car dealers like Honda etc

GPS N32deg56.747 E35deg50.817
Mobile: (jordan code) + 0796582627

Oh yes he has a 2003 Suzuki GSXR1000 in the back of his shop waiting for the day that bikes are legalised.

AFAIK small bikes with up to 250(?)cc are now legal in Jordan.

At least I saw a couple of Kawasaki dirtbikes and even a bike shop (don't ask where) in Amman.

Bossies,
Are the coordinates correct?
N32 56.747 E35 50.817 on my map puts it somewhere in Syria.
Cheers,
Stephan

I visited the shop in Amman in 2008 when i didn't have the tools with me to change my front sprocket. Chris agreed to change it for me and i left my bike with him while i went to Tel Aviv to get the parts. He replaced the chain and sprockets well...my only complaint was that he said that he would charge me 'nothing much' and i think it came to abotu 120 JD which i thought was a massive amount considering it was not more than an hours job.

I ended up paying it as he had stored the bike for me for 4 days.

ask him for a price. He has a workshop where he had a couple of raptor quads and the like.

Lars,

I am arriving in Amman next Friday and visiting for about a week. Would dearly love to hire a bike to see the country. Based on your message, sounds like you may have some info -- do you have any info on bike rentals? Would greatly apprecaite any tips! Thanks in advance, E.

Bikes have become legal again in Jordan. Harley Davidson has a big new shop on the Dead Sea road as you leave Amman (near to Climbat, a big new climbing wall).

Not seen any other Motorcycle dealers though, although I have seen a Honda GL 1800 with the rider wearing "Honda Jordan", on the back of his jacket.

Harley had a big rally here in Aqaba last October, riders from all over the world I believe.

Seen a few sports bikes as well, but all in all Bikes are still very rare in country.

Also check out "Big Boys Toys", they have quads etc and so should be able to help out with repairs etc.
