What's the situation re car parking, is there any off road in the village? As I wont be staying over I may tow the bike down.

Cornwall meet

Hi Rossi

We (Chris and I) are definitely planning to come. We'll be camping but will probably eat down the pub. We've booked Friday off work so will potter down during the day and hopefully arrive in time to put the tent up in the daylight.

We'll probably drink 3 or 4 pints each and we're more than happy to pay for it in advance. How do we do that?

As for bike, we're planning to come on a G/S outfit, and would be up for the green laning. Currently on Mitas trials tyres and providing its wide enough we'll have a go! Depends on how tough the lanes are. Have you ever done/watched any MCC trials? (they're in that neck of the woods) We've had the outfit completely upside down on Simms - but have cleaned or at least got up all the other sections if that gives a guide of what we can manage.

If most people are eating at the pub, then please book us a place too and we'll go with the majority.

Thanks for organising it all. Really looking forward to it!

Hi Rossi
Just found the thread is it to late to put my name in the hat for this bash?
I would think I would camp as long as weather is reasonable if not can the hall be booked last min .

Fantastic Mister Fox 16 Jan 2011 19:15

Put me down for a tenners worth of beer.

Aiming to come down backroads (more fun than motorways) from bristol leaving at lunch time on Friday if people want to join me.

I am on a transalp with road biased tyres. A ride out with bacon butty at the end of it count me in otherwise I am happy to prop up the bar with any one else who does not fancy riding after 6 hours in the saddle to get there is fine with me.jeiger

I am on a road bike (suzki GS500), so a road rideout would also be good too!

Well that looks like a plan, meet up Friday afternoon and ride down, few drinks Friday night and then a trip out Saturday.

So count me in, sleeping bag already packed, just need to sort a few things on the bike and tax it and I will be away.

What I am unsure of is the hall sleeping, is it just for the saturday night? I could ride down from Thetford/Ely on Friday night, but prob wouldn't get there til 9pmish but this means a whole day sat to go and have fun. I'll bring the tent anyway.

how many are coming- 1, me, Fern

when expect to arrive, prob Friday night

sleeping in the hall or camping: Pref hall, if hall is one night then one night hall one night tent

are you drinking beer (1, 2 or several?) Yes please, I can't handle more than 5ish pints in an eve

do you want to join a trail ride (what bike / tyres)- Road ride- road bike, shit road tyres, interest mentioned in road ride, might have a look at the map and see where looks good

Do you want to book a table at the pub. yes please sounds good.

I'm sure will be able to find a space but you might need to go up the top of the road.

Don't need payment in advance, so long as I know how much to order, pay when you get here.

Be interesting to see an outfit on the lanes but it sounds like you know what you are doing and are prepared for the odd spill. I have ridden Simms a couple of times but but usually tend to stay more local if I am out on the lanes. I rode in a few trials last year and have a twinshock fantic in the shed.

No problem with the hall. By 9am Saturday the hall has to look like nobody has slept in it, Sunday morning is less of a problem, and we need to leave it clean and tidy when we finish.

Confirming

Arriving Friday evening though as I have to work Friday afternoon, not sure what time I'm arriving, probably sleeping in the hall.

Doom Bar? Probably just a couple of pints as I'll be on the wine.
A meal at the pub sounds good- I assume that's on the Saturday evening?
I'd like to go green laning

Hi All I will be arriving on Friday night with Diehard and camping. Most of my eating will be on camp stove although I may follow Diehard and eat a meal at a local hostelry.

Drinking, hell yeah! I normally drink lager (the piss cloured stuff with bubbles) but will try a couple of pints of doom. Put me down for 10 and if I dont like it the beers can go to some one else or the money to charity. I will be bringing a bottle of Mr Daniels finest purely for medicinal purposes!

Would I be right in assuming there are some shops not too far away to replenish coke (not the sniffy stuff, I use Ajax these days it's a lot cheaper) and Becks if required?

Looking forward to it all and cant wait to test out the new gear bought in the wake of Cropton and Kettlewell last year.

PASSING PHASE 17 Jan 2011 18:44

Ill go for a tenners worth as well.beer

all bar a snow storm............i will be down of friday with greenmanalishi. i will be camping, no drink for me.

jim lovell 18 Jan 2011 20:40

Hi Rossi, could I add one more person please, camping, cooking, arriving Friday afternoon, 15 pints please. Thanks Jim.

Keith1954 18 Jan 2011 21:35

Just to confirm our attendance Rossi - that's to say, me and 'er indoors.

We'll aim to arrive, either late Friday afternoon (probably), or alternatively sometime during the early-mid pm of Saturday. Unfortunately it's a no ride-out situation for us, of any sort, as my bike is currently laid-up for the winter (no tax on her, etc). Nevertheless, we'll be there - on 4 x wheels - for the social side of the event.

As we will be 'up country' from home (outskirts of Newquay), then we'll take the opportunity on Saturday morning to go for a nose around Trago Mills .. yunno the sorta thing I mean - for a Warrens' pasty .. and maybe a new hearth rug.

No Doom Bar required for us, as we're a pair of wussy lager & wine louts.

See you soon

KEITH [& ELLEN]
