Dino is due to be unloaded from a container today, in the next couple of weeks we aim to get some sort of child seat sorted, then he's ready for the next adventure!

I've scanned the various entries but other than ''20 miles from Plymouth'' I can't see a reference to exactly where. Am I missing something? If not the venue could be useful:biggrin3:

It will be Up Country for me, unless it's west of Penzance ...

Question is are the locals friendly near the border? Do I need Sat Phone, or will just Spot do there?

Do you know if there are ATMs and banks that near Devon?

You normally get away without your passport but every now and then they have the border patrols out..... Don't worry, they only charge 4 wheels to get out of Cornwall, bikes get free passage both ways.

If you search for PL14 5JA you will be about 50m too far up the road.
If you want it more precise, bike parking will be at
50deg29'54.96"N 4deg27'22.58"W (taken from google earth). Thing is that google earth doesn't show my house as satellite photos were taken before I built it. B****rds got it on street view though.

If you're coming from down west, use the A38 through the Glynn Valley and take a left at the top of the hill after Trago. Keep going till you cross a cattle grid then turn right. As the road goes sharp right at the bottom of the hill, carry straight on.

From up-country I would normally take the A30 to Launceston then cut across the B3254. Straight on for about 10 miles then turn right after the cattle grid. Through Crows Nest and take a right on the sharp double bend. Tis a bit twisty and windy though so if you're arriving after dark on a bike with ropey lights you might be better taking the A38 past Plymouth and turn off at Liskeard. Directions are a bit more complicated, just follow signs for St Cleer until you pick up the signs for Darite.

We have a very friendly local pub (lock ins at the drop of a hat) which serves good food, they'll even tell you which field your steak grew up in! It can get a little busy for evening meals though so if you want to eat let me know and I will book a table. Alternatively bring some beer and we can get a fire going outside, or sit inside if it is snowing. I can fire up a gas bbq if my kitchen can't cope.

I have yet to speak to the village hall committee en-mass but I have had agreement in principal from the chairman and others so it will be fine. They will probably want a couple of quid per head to kip in the hall. Only condition will be that we tidy up afterwards and are out of the way on Saturday am for the village coffee morning. If you really want to camp, the school field cum village green is flat.

Great venue for a meeting!!

As far as the boarder crossing is concerned - it is not quite as bad as Rosso!! - the ony bribe is a couple of quid when you leave - just give it to the nice man in the toll booth on the bridge.

Bring a tilly lamp cos we don't get electricity till next year

Do I have to book a spot in the hall?? if so consider this my reservation.

Not sure which bike I'll be coming down on depends how far I've got with the mods on my MT350. Otherwise I'll be on the XR250

Well we'll definitely be coming, but in a four by four and most likely with an eight month old baby. So it could just be an hour or so, but will see what most people are up to and try and fit round it .....
