I was thinking of a keg of Doom Bar but that probably won't mean much to anybody East of Plymouth. Don't worry it slips down very easily.

Heading Up from Lands End

I'll be riding up north to this meet- if anyone wants to combine the meet with a JOGLE :scooter:(John O'Groats to Lands End) ride or just fancies a foray down to Lands End then get in touch, you can use my house as an overnight stop then ride up to the Meet with me on Friday 4th, if your aching backside will allow it:rofl:.
I've seen plenty of people staggering off their bikes after completing the ride down - it's entertainment for us locals.

as there seems to be another KTM adventure bike at the meet at least i can be sure of spare parts!:innocent:

very much looking forward to the meet!

Welcome to the site:thumbup1:, be nice to see another big Katoom there on the lanes, and if you are up for a bit of laning then theres some good rideouts also on UK KTM Forum - Latest Articles which has a fairly active adventure and superenduro rideout contingent.

I wont have many spares as I'm on good terms with the nearest local KTM dealer down that way!! (and being mr disorganised it will be a miracle if I remember to even swap tyres before then :-) )

Just remember that if I topple off the bike, bury myself in a hedge or anything like that it's completely intentional and I'm just trying to make you feel more comfortable about adding a few battle scars to your shiny sounding bike, normally I'm obviously a feet up, trials riding legend:mchappy:

(that last bit might not be true)

I'm assuming you're talking about Swampy (Marsh Performance), the man is a legend. We also have JD Racing, they are only 1/2 mile apart, so you're spoilt for choice. If any KTM riders haven't come across Swampy yet I'd recommend him.

I will need to change my front tyre for the weekend as well, unless I get it done in advance. I have levers, foot pump, bike stand etc you can use if you bring your tyres with you.

ZZSPEEDZZ 7 Dec 2010 23:26

BLOODY HELL GUYS!! CHANGE TYRES?
as i said, virgin. you'll be telling me next i need to bring my own unleaded as its not supplied! doh

bugger! i assume the rear tyre is ok'ish? just change the front?
how green are these lanes? is it gonna be muddy and can i bring me mom?

seriously though, hadnt planned on changing tyres however having the chance to have a pro like Rossi show me how easy it is to change a tyre is very appealing! sure thats ok my friend? really want to learn as i am a real novice in the workshop. Even when i raced i paid my mate to do all the fettling!:blushing:

i cant dance either, does that matter?

This is shaping up nicely by the looks, would love to come down and meet some real humans.

Not sure what method of transport yet, if weather is fairish, might be the bike although in process of changing bikes. If not so good, might be the camper or car.

I have friends in Bude, family in Sidmouth and family memorials in Launceston, so lots of dispatching birds with one stone.

Good work on the organisation front!

Not seen the escapes but since they are more road biased than the twinduros I'd go shopping. I haven't used the rear twinduro but find the front a bit like a ski. Fine on dry rock and gravel but not much else.

I'm using Mitas E09s which are OK as a compromise tyre

Pumpy 11 Dec 2010 23:40

Great initiative, thanks, Rossi. :thumbup1:

It was actually Tiffany who made me aware of this Mini Meet; she also suggested that I could give a talk about my recent four-month trip through South America - if anyone is interested?

Still in Buenos Aires at the moment (and almost dying of unbearable heat... :rolleyes3:) but the DRZ is already on her way back to England; I'll follow next Tuesday.

And after that long time on and off the road even a village hall without showers won't put me off anymore... ;)

See you all soon,

Ela
