Heads up mates! If you are intending to come to the HUBB UK next year you've just 19 days left to register and snag a discounted pass - £20 off until Dec 31st at 9pm.

If you have mates who are intending to come, please give them a nudge so they don't miss out doh on this!!!!

9pm? Iain says, strangely enough, that he'll be partying after that! bier

And while I'm here, I hope you all have fantastic Christmases wherever you are and whatever you plan. :thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:

Last chance saloon in 2013

Hope everyone's had a great Christmas. Mine has certainly been memorable :)

Further nudges will get posted on Twitter and Facebook a little nearer the time, but this is the last reminder on the forum that 9pm on New Year's Eve is the cut-off for HUBB UK registrations at the current discount rate (£55 for a full 4-day pass or £35 for a 2-day pass).

Strike while the iron's hot and before Hogmanay celebrations completely distract you :)

Change to ticket days?

We've bought tickets for Saturday and Sunday. Am I able to change them for Friday and Saturday? If so, who do I contact? Long story short, we're over from Ireland and have taken the opportunity to book an off road skills course in Wales on the Sunday and Monday.

Oh, hello, BTW. I didn't realise I hadn't posted before. How rude. :oops2:

Sam Manicom 15 Jan 2014 13:16

Hi, great to hear from you and not rude at all!!! :) But we have bad news I’m afraid. There isn’t an option for a Friday/Saturday 2-day pass. The only options are for Thurs/Friday or for Sat/Sunday. Lots of past discussions on this and this is how it’s ended up. Really sorry. The off-road course in Wales sounds great though! Perhaps change to a Thurs/Fri pass, head off on Friday afternoon and B&B it or camp close to the off-road venue? Some magic riding down that way. Or change to the full 4-day pass. It’s only £25 extra pp if you do that before the next deadline. PM me and I’ll ask Susan to arrange either for you.

mrsroynie 16 Jan 2014 18:56

Oh dear. Best we buy the four day pass then. I'll PM.

mrsroynie 16 Jan 2014 18:58

Oh dear again. Need 5 posts. I'll have a bit of a browse and see where I can contribute something useful. ;)

Great stuff. I've just emailed Susan for you. She'll be in touch. Looking forward to seeing you in June!

What do you need five posts for?

Looking forward to HUBB UK!

Kia ora Sam, Iain and other UK adventure-ists . I had a great time at Queensland Australia HU rally last year (and got my smiling face in Freewheeling magazine article!). I'm really looking forward to being back in England and sharing a yarn or two with like minded 2 wheeled travelers at HUBB UK in June

Tabbi 21 Jan 2014 11:13

Hi there,

I´m thinking of visiting the HUBB in England too. Never been there in my life and so I thougt it would be a good starting point learning something about another country outside my own.

Because I never cross the channel first question, which ferry you suggest e.g. Dunkerque?

I assume that I need a minimum of 2 days for traveling, and would arrive Wednesday evening (so my plan).

Would this be possible?

Further question can you advise good street maps? Think I need more then one map reaching Donington Park.

The rest of my question hmm asking then in England.
Like camp grounds (I want to stay and travel 4-5 days around after the meeting).

Greetings from Germany.

Hi Tabbi,

Personally I always use the tunnel when nipping over to Europe from England.
It's a little more expensive than the ferry but no strapping down of bikes to worry about and they are reasonably flexible about letting you on alternative trains if you arrive a little earlier than planned.

Google reckons you are 420km to the tunnel and another 316km from Folkestone up to Donnington Park so say 750km, or 460 miles, in total.

If it were me then I'd probably stop just short of Calais to split the journey into a couple of days.

Maps.
I'd get some sort of Michelin map that I could fit into a map case on my bike but many options for this of course.

Hopefully see you there.

Hi Tabbi,

When I rode from Mansfield (near Donington) to Turkey I went through Germany.

I left home Friday midday, caught the Eurotunnel train Friday evening and camped Friday night in Belgium. I was at Nuerburgring by Saturday afternoon.

If you know where you want to explore I will search some campsites for you :)

Cheers, Simon
