Can i just rock up on Saturday (on a motorbike) and be able to camp the night?

Im off overland to Central Asia at the end of the month and this would be the perfect start to my first major trip!

Jamie

You can't buy a one-day pass, you'll have to buy for two days - or rather one-and-a-half days as Sunday will only be a half day of events. Never quite worked out why one-day passes aren't available but that's how it is.

But yes, you can just roll up and pay on the gate. That's what I'm planning to do assuming I have enough money in my pocket on Thursday.

Wednesday - Cloud, 17C
Thursday - Cloud, 18C rain in the evening
Friday - Sun and cloud, 17C rain in the evening
Saturday - Sun and cloud, 18C

If it doesn't quite work out like that then complaints to the BBC weather people please.

Bon voyage.

Yeh weather seems to be mostly dry but cloudy with some sun and the odd shower. Typical summer weather really, covers all angles. Cooler than it has been in the UK these last few weeks so may be worth an extra blanket at night

Just a quickie for Iain - we met briefly at AO a couple of years ago and you suggested I give a presentation at the Hubb in 2013 but I had to do a couple of trips to Corsica on the dates in question and missed out.

At the last minute I'm joining the guys on the Land Rover Classic Campers stand on Thursday with my SWB Mini Camper and am happy to talk to anyone interested in hearing about my 45 years working in Adventure Travel in Africa and Asia. Looking forward to the craic....

Still looking dodgy as far as me going is concerned. Not enough cash in my pocket at this moment, so unless I can beg, borrow or steal...

On the off chance I can make it, what's the earliest I can arrive Thursday morning? I'd quite like to get there dead early and pitch up before the day starts.

Dunno if Sam or Iain are still checking this thread...

Bike packed ready to go

Just finished packing the Bike, didn't know she could carry all that stuff, amazing.
Volunteered to be a toilet cleaner, how sad is that - Who cares I'm still looking forward to it.
A request, I work on a ship and my nickname is Chainsaw, (Seisobs on here) no one will share a hotel room with me on crew changes because my snoring is that bad, do you have a snorers corners, preferably in the woods.
Anyway, leaving Stirling at 11 tomorrow morning, if anyone sees a GSA with a Scottish flag on the back, I wonder who that is.:scooter:
