Can you tell me why you are going to all that trouble repositioning the air filter and making up all those pipes? I would like to see how the Trailtech Vapor computer + dashboard looks so if you get a chance post some pictures. By the way I have Devil headers from Kedo and a less restrictive tailpipe and bought some fstainless steel flexi pipe off ebay to join up. I used fire putty and a jubilee clip and it's stayed put for a few months. But I expect you have access to welding gear and better equipment to make a better job. |

Thanks! All that trouble with the new airfilter is because I now got the raptor660 carb and because of it I had to push the rear shock about 1 1-1/2" back to be able to fit the carburetor.. Yeah, I also got the Kedo Devil downpipes but with a WR450 muffler :P I did see in a local mechanic garage one of those flexi tubes for the exhaust but I'll only resort to that if I can't have it welded to give the frame a little more rigidity... As for the light I don't know as I suspect each country has different rules regarding beam height. You could probably look this up on the internet. Here there are sites outlining what the testers look for. MOT UK car and vehicle MOT information equipment car servicing parts and spares - headlamp aim When I took my bike for its M.O.T I had an advisory because the light flicked upto the right dazzling oncoming traffic. The tester covered a patch of the headlight to stop this happening. Even though it had previously had 3 M.O.T's by the previous owner this problem had never been picked up before. It turns out my bike is a grey import from France so I have to decide whether to keep the tape on the perfectly good headlight or pay £300 for a new UK one. All the ones on Ebay are for different modles or not for the UK. |
So..
After searching for some need-to-do things on the bike so it can pass the MOT I found out that my WR front brake master cylinder does not have an option to put the front brake light switch... A little research here and there and I found the solution... WR/YZ Baja kits! They got an oil pressure sensor that is used for this purpose.. A Baja kit..is around 160USD without shipping... A little more googling and I found the oil pressure switch! http://www.wheelingcyclesupply.com/i...AAAV-11442.jpg I'm going for the Banjo option as It will look much better as the cable goes directly to the side whilst the bolt type the cables stick outwards to the front! airbox is 65% complete...
need to: 1) make some fitting holes for the screws 2) fiber a few nylon nuts with some large size but not too thick (if possible) shims 3) reinforce a part I needed to cut a bit off 4) fiber some fins to inside to separate and secure the battery + electrics from the air filter... (chambers lol) 5) paint the air box 6)glue some old "tire air chamber" on the lower side of the airbox. pics later tonight or tomorrow! ALELUIA! Vando jeiger |

Pretty sure its M6, i've used some for mine which you can tighten with you're fingers (fingerscrews?) Works nicelym and very helpfull at times. Need to do the same for the airboxcover, and the same for the mesh thats placed instead of the snorkel. :)

Hehe.. yeah it's a small island a whole lot of 98 square kilometers of paradise! :D
Here there are a lot of dirt roads and some few major streets, no highways or speedways in my island but I did still get 160km/h a few years back when I weighted about 20 kilos less (which I'm taking care of). And yes, a motorcycle is the best means of transportation here.. in my opinion of course! lol It's one of the best places to spend a whole summer if you want some piece and quiet and a few music festivals from once in a while :thumbup1: For me I love the fact that in less than an hour I can prep my boat, go to a fuel station and fill it with gas and go spearfishing, big game fishing, wakeboarding, go to some remote hidden beaches where you can take some girls, beer, vodka and a few cooking ingredients and eat some freshly caught 15min ago fish or even have a barbecue is simply amazing jeiger And take ones waste back home and dispose of it of course! About the XT.. it's not one of the most moddified ones out there but it sure is the most WELL moddified one here in the whole Azores islands! :innocent: few pictures in the next post! Vando jeiger |

The airbox is still in need of a few adjustments internally so I can secure the battery, TCI, flash relay and fuse box (I think I'm missing one thing here...)
As you can see in the pictures, there are two gaps on the sides of the airbox beneath the seat which I still have to fiber it so it has a nice seal.. Will need to make two holes on the under part of the airbox to be able to screw and unscrew the seatpost bolts.... i see you have raised the hight of the rear to match up to the new forks .has this caused any problems with the chain wearing the plastic guide out on the swing arm ? how did you decide to higher the back ? im in the same position now with a stripped down frame.i have new WP usd forks that are 50mm longer than the old ones and i now need to get a new rear shock.anyone know the strongest at a ok price ?
