Heya...
I thought of it but didn't make or get one as I don't plan loading it up besides hauling my arse around and surely some ladyfriends. :innocent: But I did reinforce the frame... I ordered the welder to weld a tube but he didn't actually weld it where I wanted.. Look at the center of the picture. Right above the clip/bracket where the the airfilter black intake tubes.. That tube isn't there from factory... The actual spot I wanted it to be welded was the lower part about three inches higher so it would "match" the tube welded from factory on the other side. http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/8...c02930r.th.jpg http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/1...c02787y.th.jpg (stock tube factory welded close to the number 3) Vando beer |
Still no parts ready today!
He said tomorrow morning they are all ready! Have to see it to believe it!!!! Vando beer |
Well, I believe! lol
Got the parts fitted today but didn't fit the rear footrests yet. Now I'm in the process of tunning my carb! 132.5 mainjets and needle in the 4th groove is still not enough. On high acceleration even in first gear the high rpm range misfires due to lack of fuel... Later tonight will take out the carbs again and fit 135 or 137.5 mainjets probably try both combos... Will take the pictures once I'm done with tuning and properly clean the bike  Vando beer |
I saw my tires this afternooooooooooooooon!
Sadly I couldn't get them right there... I need to wait for the courier to go pick it up and only then I can have them! Have to wait until Monday morning :( Will tune the carbs over the weekend and fit the tires Mondayyy :D Vando beer |
Updating..
Got my tires monday morning. Already got my new front disc brake rotor! It took me about 4 hours last night to get the f-ed up front disc brake rotor bolts off as the heads were stripped! :taz: Had to weld some beads over the bolts so I could use a Grip pliers to take them out doh Well.. at least tomorrow morning I should have the new front tire fitted.. One question, Do you guys put some loctite/thread lock on the bolts for the disc brake rotor? I think I'll just put some nylon nuts on there... Vando beer |
yamaha xt600E 2000
does anyone can tell me where to buy an aluminum skid plate for my XT 600E 2000? or the tenere 1200 skid plate will fit in to my 600?:helpsmilie:
|
Find it here www.kedo.com
or The UK’s biggest choice of motorcycle parts for Japanese and European machines. really doubt the 1200 will fit on the 600E Vando |
Kedo for the bashplate.
Vando, I think the manual calls for threadlock for brakedisc bolts. It seems like a good idea. |
Jens: Yeah... but I bought longer bolts than the stock ones so I could put nylocks nuts instead of the threadlock..
I'm gonna damage on of those countersunk bolts and see if I can weld on it to ensure I can get them out again if I ever need to.. Also, I'm thinking of fitting 3 trailtech vapor speed sensor bolt magnets if I can find the third one.. or I'll just put the two that I have on hand right now.. Let's see, let's see.. Vando beer |
Use threadlock mate, use a lesser strength one if you are really worried about removing it in the future, but all threadlock will release with a bit of heat anyhow so i wouldn't worry about it, safer stuck in than falling out.
Crisscross pattern doing it up with 10nm of torque. Mezo. |

Hey Vando!
Could you post a close-up picture of your triple clamps and their "steering stopper" (the part which doesn't let the fork hit the gas tank). You know what I mean? :oops2: Cheers! bier Tadas. |
Hey guys!
Been away from the forum for a few weeks.. sorry.. Well, I haven't been riding the bike for a while now.. to darn cold outside lol Tadas: the triple clamps are aftermarket racing quality specifically made for the Yamaha YZ/WR 125-450 up untill 2004 (for this version).. after this they changed increased the diameter of the forks. I'll try to take some pictures in a bit but what I did was weld two bits of square-shaped solid "pipe" which I bent and grinded so it would hit the steering stoppers on the lower triple clamp. Mezo: I can't remember the bike ever being as good as it is now in terms of power.. about 4 weeks ago when I last drove her, I accidentally whellied in 2nd gear and I'm 117kg... Keep in mind it has to do with the Kedo Devil downpipes which are +4mm bore than stock, the opened up WR450 exhaust pipe and the K&N RU-4710 airfilter with Outwear and open "airbox"... I would never change it back to what it was before! ;) Vando beer |
Mezo.. They are just too big for the XT's stock engine...
Maybe a full race engine makeover could work with one of those Keihin.. 101mm high compression piston, reinforced crankshaft, high quality bearings, double forged conrod, larger and titanium valves retainers, springs and seals, lighter flywheel, reinforced clutch basket, racing clutch plate kit and springs, stage3 cam, complete performance exhaust (downpipes and silencer), front and rear suspension, reinforcing the frame..... The XT wasn't built as a racing bike...not even for supermoto... It would be way overpriced to do all these upgrades + work and the bike is just too heavy... One would do much better with a CR450F or KTM525SM or even a Honda CR500AF (CR500 engine in a CR450F frame!) ;) Vando :) |
