The cover of the carb did have a small hole which I fixed look:

Oh, and as you can see, there is also a Rubber joint between the 2-into-1 joint and the carburetor which I bought it new from Yamaha.

Besides that, I also got a KTM 640 LC4 twist throttle with cables to make work with this carb..

So what happens when you use this carb? More or less: power, fuel economy, torque, engine wear&tear?

bacardi23 6 Jul 2010 17:44

andre...have you ever thought of making a performance mod that would take away power from your bike?

I wouldn't do it!
Besides, I'm considering selling the single carburetor because It's really hard to make it fit on the XT's frame without having to modify your frame slightly because it fits in direct line with the rear shock...

I was advised about this and I was too stuborn thinking I could work around and modifying the frame.
This slight modification on the frame can be really bad for it's integrity.

This carburetor should work much better on the buggy than it would on the XT.

No wonder why the Yamaha Grizzly 600 ATV switched from the XT's carburetor to this bigger single carburetor!

So what s the price for it?

bacardi23 7 Jul 2010 15:51

Hi!

Do you also want the Throttle with cables?

If you do, I'll take you just half of the price I paid for throttle!

Also throw in a K&N conic style air filter and two other rubber joints I bought that might be useful to you if they don't make the package shipping category costs higher ,cool?

110€ plus shipping costs and it's yours!

Although I'll only be able to send them on the 26th when I get back home unless I can make my brother who already is back home have everything shipped to you sooner!

Does it just run a normal motorbike cable? If so I already have one fitted to the buggy. Whats the small black unit on side of the carbie?

bacardi23 8 Jul 2010 01:12

yup, it can run motorcycle cables. I used the XT's cables to operate it.

The black plastic thing on the side is a from what I recall is KTM throttle position sensor.. do you know those cars who have an indicator on the dashboard that displays the miles/gallon of km/liter, it's that thing.
It's just a sensor, it doesn't affect anything.
If you want you can probably get that part from a wrecked KTM and fit it to the buggy somehow.

Imagination is the limit :D

Oh not at all, I am only interested in knowing if it might improve fuel economy (when cruising), since the stock engine is quite thirsty even when cruising.
