None bike stuff - I lived in a Merc Unimog for a year and drove across Europe to Ukraine then back to France and though Morocco down to Ghana.

Next:

I'm riding in Mongolia for a month on the way back to the UK.

Planning a ride up thorough South America starting in January.

The next leg of RTW

Setting off again in June from Oz:- fly into Seoul, ferry to Zarubino, to Mongolia, back into and across Russia, southeast through Europe, winter in Greece, then Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal in 2013, before flying home to Oz again.

Riding alone on my 650 WeeStrom. :D

Travelling now since August 2007, with some summers home in Tasmania.

Amazing journey.
I am booked on 06/17 ferry to Vladivostok,, no ferry to Zarubino any more, the old Dong Chun went kaput. We have to use DBS Ferry from Dong Hae to Vlad. www.dbsferry.com

How Many HUBB Women?

I am a lady rider, see my log in name? I am planning a trip on my DR650, as soon as I can get some Monkeys off my back!

India, Vietnam and now Africa

hi all

together with my husband we've ridden enfield's in the indian himalayas and minks the length of Vietnam.

In september we're leaving Europe and (all being well) heading all the way to Cape Town. We'll be on MT 350's old army bikes, tough as old boots and (hopefully easy to fix if needed).

So this time next year I should be able to join the 'continent' club!!

Hi SJ,
I am quite new on HU. I was traveling in the last three months in west Africa in overlanding as a travel companion. I met a kiwi woman coming from Sudan heading cape town on her bike with others travelers. We were in Addis Abeba in Ethiopia.
Humbly I give my hat to all these women traveling all around the world.
Take care and keep going ladies!

isa.

That Might Be Me!

Hey,
Im another lone kiwi travelling around the world.

This is my second trip I'm undergoing now - Australia to Africa and of course around on a DR350! I'm currently in Tanzania after leaving home October 2010.
I have a long way to go! But im enjoying it so so much!

My first trip was in 2008 Bangkok to Moscow on a xr 250 only for 10months covering 28,000km with only 6 months of road riding under my belt.

Keep it up ladies!! Let the smile spread across your face!

Two Korean Girls

They rode 125 CC Honda scooters from Korea to UK ,,, through Siberia and Eastern Europe, in 2011.
Tiffany has been sorting them out.
Good job ladies!

I am riding Alaska to Patagonia and maybe back, solo, over about 11 months or so... just been up to Prudohe bay and back (and around ... about 30,00km) and am stalling in Seattle before I head on south sometime this week?

I have never traveled alone but whilst in the states recently I met a women who had just too redundancy and bought a bike and when riding..! Inspiring

There certainly are some km/miles clocked up here already. You ladies are all an inspiration, keep up the good work. I hope one day to join you. I have only ridden in Australia and I still have most of it to see on the bike. I am planning a trip in 2017 (when I can get long service leave) the main goal is to ride Ireland and the UK but I would love to ship into Turkey to see Gallipoli and then make my way from there to the UK.

Scootergal 4 Oct 2012 02:03

I've done 29,000 then 65,000 all over Oz on my scooters...
then in '06 took my 16 year old daughter as pillion to Europe on a scooter for 4 months
and just returned from another solo trip around Europe by scooter.

Next year I am upgrading to a Postie Bike to do a lap of Oz.

I've never done that type of travelling, but let me tell you, ladies: your stories are fun to read and very inspiring! even if I don't own a bike now...I might consider to change that! And I will drop in this thread every now and then to see further stories you have to tell! :biggrin3:

winter in Greece,

Just so you know.

It snows in Greece! Down on the Peloponnese, Mycenae ... close to the sea... snow on the mountains in December. I was camping... look out one morning to see white stuff on the mountains. Was nice camping there by the way.

May not worry a taswegian, but was a bit of a surprise for me.

takeonafrica 22 Jun 2013 14:29

How cool - I never knew there were so many!!

Not sure I count... my bike doesn't have an engine! But I have cycled through Africa alone, and North America and Central America (notched up about 40,000km in total). And start biking across Asia tomorrow starting in Siberia (as much of Black Sea to Bering Sea as I can, although I'm having to do it in 2 parts, summer and winter).

Better still, I got my license earlier this year so after this trip I'm upgrading to a motorbike :) Then it'll count...
