Bastards. Hope you get it sorted mate or let the world know who not to use for a tour company.

You will have good fun on the strom with some nice TKC80's or equivalent for the muddy stuff here (certainly wouldn't advise the single trail stuff though). You should be coming into SEA the end of the wet anyway I think?

You can get the delivered to Chiang Mai, Thailand from Bangkok for a reasonable price too!

Hi

I am naming them as I write the post, all the company names they have used, and strangly enough, I used th eword bastards to identify them also ;)

I have Heidenau Scout K60s and I am hoping they will last me until I get home. I have no wish to do mud, but hard packed gravel is fine. I am not planning any single track as I have done enough damage to me and the bike already by going off road

Cheers

Also had my tour with them cancelled... I was doing nepal-Tibet-China-Laos... On this occasion it was out of their control (that whole change in the rules, only 5 or more of same nationality will be granted permits, heard from many other sources aswell).... But once again many in my group were displaced... i also shipped to bangkok from mumbai... i was lucky i was still in india when they cancelled... in a 4x4 i wouldnt have been able to air freight the van like the other bikers... i most probably would have to wait a few months before applying for another visa to india....

Yes some it was out of their control, we originally went into china via Kyrgystan then followed the himalaya's down, detour to tibet then out in Laos, we made a big detour north to fit in with the new regulations and still failed :(

Yeh this last cancellation is very bizarre. Hope it works out for you ok? Good luck

We are in Kampong Thom at the moment and will be heading to Kratie in a day or so to try and see these Mekong dolphins. We spent way to much time in Malaysia/Thailand doing the beach/island thing so we gave Sihanoukville a miss. How are you finding it?

I think Mr. Strom did do China but is just shipping the bike at the moment?

For big bikes we are certainly here in the wrong season but some of the attractions can be seen with braving some 5-50km dirt entrance roads. Although there's many awesome adventure riding to be done over hear (much more enjoyable when its drier).

We also experiencing a lot of rain at the moment here in Sihanoukville. But after 9 months in travelling across Siberia-Mongolia-China-Laos and Cambodia we love the smell of the sea. As compared with Thailand and Malay beaches you did not mis anything in fact you would have been disappointed.
Saturday or Sunday night we are in Phnom Penh if ou are still there we can meet. We bush camped in the Royal Palace carpark 2 nights. But the local street kids made us look for a guest house 7 Km out of town on the way to the Vietnam border. Guest House Elephant Blanc $25USD per night perfec pool and small breakfast for 2.

I am posting today on my blog the whole story and I have written to the tour company advising them they are about to be slammed as they have not responded to my request for a valid reason

G'day Robert - won't be heading to Phnom Penh unfortunately but will be heading the other way too Kratie tomorrow. Overstayed here two days with some food poisoning and nobody has come close to convincing me that we should see the crazy capital so far :)

Which way are you headed after?

I think Phnom Penh has a few interesting sights which are part of Cambodia
1. Killing Fields 2. S21 Prison 3. Possible the Royal Palace. When we travelled in Africa we did Rwanda and could not believe what happenend there. while the world did nothing. It made Hitler look like a gentleman. And I have to say the same here in Cambodia. From Phnom Penh we travel to Ankor What and Battembang then into Thailand.
Cheers
