Should make it easier for people to meet up, offer advice and get help.

We are also considering travelling to China and would probably enter in Mongolia and exit in Laos - although we need others to travel with and at the moment is proving difficult. hence Vlad plan

Looking for somebody to cross into China mid May 2015 near Vladivostok ... no guides for China ... only experienced travellers.

I am planning riding my v strom 650 back to nz in 2015 , beginning late April early May.

Route is probably through Iran, Pakistan, india, nepal then airfreight to thailand. But open to suggestions.

Would be happy to join with riders. I am a 64 year old kiwi and have done solo in Morocco, turkey, europe for consecutive three month tours. Heading for central America next month for three month "small" bike tour.

Happy to meet up when I return to or in my travels in Europe next year.

Current plan is to make a 3 month trip going from belgium to mongolia and back.

Timing: departure june/july 2015. Upon arrival in mongolia I would park the bike, go to china by train. Returning to mongolia after one month (china visum expires), then return through Siberia to Belgium.

purpose: travel offroad where feasible. ie limit asfalt to the bare minimum.

refers to China, you need a professional local tour operator to help. Actually some users contacted with China NAVO Tour already, Welcome to China guys~

but would also provide several notes here:
1. normally China operator needs at least 1-2 months for national permits applying.

2. if motorbike and cars would make into one group, please note the road conditions as motorbike cannot ride on the highway in the most area in China.

3. for age: in principle the rider cannot beyond 60 years old and driver cannot beyond 70 years. But some borders seems not so strictly and good luck~

Hi, Heading south and east from the UK - leaving August 2015. Hoping to be in China Dec 2015/Jan 2015.

UK - Europe - Turkey - Russia - Stans - Mongolia - China .....

The last bit is a bit up in the air as we need to find someone else to go with through China to share costs! We are willing to be flexible with our route through China if necessary but at the moment probably either ship out of China or Laos.

4 of us going in a converted Landrover ambulance.

I was very interested in this as its almost exactly what I want in right timescale but I want to go on two wheels not 4. Damn.

Updated, I think I make that 38 now.

Not going to make any solid plans till much closer to the time but now also looking at the Iran route rather than Russia route.

Hoping that relations between Iran and UK improve and they remove the requirement for UK citizens to need a guide, otherwise would be looking to share the cost of a guide with someone else (Probably in July).

China 2015
 

We are a couple with an Expedition truck planning to cross china overland from Mongolia to Laos April- May 2015. We are currently in Lake Baikal, Russia planning to go to Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia park our truck for the winter and return next year to resume our traveling. We would like to share the costs of the guide in China with other travels who intend to take the same route around the same time. The difference in cost is pretty significant if we do it together. Anybody?

I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row at the moment.
It looks like I will have my business sold by the end of October, my renovations on my house should be done by November so I can rent it out, so I should be able to commit by December. At this stage I would say I am 95% definite. Can't wait, I'm getting excited just thinking about it!

Hi Sinky, yeah be keen to share a guide, that's possibly 4 of us for the kkh.
I'm not sure at this stage what dates for Burma. I hope to take my time and travel slowly but with a maximum 3 month visa in India maybe looking at Burma as early as January...unless I can do a couple of months in Nepal and Sri Lanka first.. still got a bit of research to do.. When are you looking at entering Burma?

Great minds think alike hey Sinky, I've been in touch with Bing at Navo as well and he said there was already a group of three looking at August, so I guess that would be you? Getting the number of people up certainly helps get the price down. Have you seen any reports on Navo, any ideas if they're a good company?

Please clarify the rule for crossing CHINA, that states "5 persons of the same nationality have to travel together". I was told this by my agent which is why I dropped the idea going thro CHINA apart from the unrealistic costs.

I'm almost certain that isn't the case, irrespective of nationality having more people in the group just makes it easier, no tour company I've contacted have mentioned a minimum group size.
