Has anyone managed to get a ride on any test bikes yet?

It's a shame they didn't put cruise on that's the one thing I felt my 650xt missed compared to some of the other big road adv bikes I'd had. I really did love the 650 though had the 1000 as well but loved the 650 alot.

I'm actually moving to Scotland in about 8-12 weeks so the 800 DE when available might be a good compromise travel bike to compliment my 300 Rally :) which I'm gonna let my dad try out we shall see. I did think about the T7 but the exhaust hanger worries me a little wouldn't want to go lobbing it off on a new bike incase I didn't get on with it, at least the Vstrom has replacable subframes.

Suzuki are doing demo days next month......think our one is towards the end of the month .
Good timing as it Co incides with their low interest rate deals and the extended warranty scheme which is a peach.......Bmw ought to take a leaf out of their hat re that o e but i won't hold my breath .

One thing that did surprise me on the 800 was the insurance I'm on a career break while dad and I get ready to move to Scotland an then do our trip to Norway an most of the main companies weren't quoting on it bar Suzuki insurance which was 900 quid + 1500 quid excess ouch! for the year so worth checking out back in work it was 500 on a really good post code, max no claims, clean licence and a really decent post code.

Might be worth checking out if anyones looking at one I'm gonna be looking at the Yams now which are a bit more reasonable on the insurance it's a shame as my 650xt was the same brill in work but soon as you are on a career break shot right up where as the beemer's an Honda's have been ok a 1000 africa twin was £300 fully comp which was cheaper than my 300 rally gotta love insurance lol

Did u try bemoto brokers . I recently changed to them as have other work colleagues and they were competitive . Best of all is if u travel say into the balkans they cover u fully comp up to 3 months.....obviously policy dependant

Hi Chris I used to use bemoto but they wont quote on it unless employed which Im not for my house move / trip also bemoto have gone double of bennetts with every bike a few friends of mine are having issues with them suddenly increasing the prices to.

Shame as it was my first choice of bike for my trip. Gonna try again after the move before I make the final choice on the bike.

I've been with BEMOTO. And I'm SELF-Employed.

So there is no reason you can't be self-employed. It doesn't cost anything.

Strange thing insurance.........what's good for one is useless for another . I can insure my gsa for less then my mate can insure his T7 for . He also got clobbered when he got a new gs rallye........he changed to cast wheels that mod cost him 80 quid extra on his premium.....go figure doh . Plus his useless company won't cover him for Montenegro or Bosnia either so he had to find a broker over there..........
