DakarMotos Javier and Sandra
I am in Ushuaia presently, I have been emailing DakarMoto a few time,, no response.. Anyone use them lately ?

so how did you get your bike back home? I send a email back in October etc bus since them nothing? this guy is real ?

And who are you to make that judgment ? I am glad that I did not fol in your hand concerning shipping my bike back as I haw heard from other that even just for custom release papers you charge 250 to 300 US.

I really dont want to intervene in the details of this particular discussion other than to tell you of my personal experience with Dakarnotors -
I airfreighted my Honda AT bike to BA from Dubai on 26th October 2016 via Amsterdam and I prior engaged Javier and Sandra to clear it for me at the BA airport weeks before to shipping. they responded to my every email quickly told me exactly what was required and the way that the BOL paperwork should be prepared - they advised me on accommodation in BA then early next morning after I arrived in BA they both met me in the coffee shop at petrol station at the airport and first we thoroughly went through all the paperwork. After that they had processed for me a personal pass into the security airside of the airport Then both of them went in different directions at quick pace cross crossing the airport several times and swapped me back and forth presenting me at different desks in front of officialdom. by 2.30 pm my bike was de-crated, custom cleared and I was issued with a pass to exit the airport - I was ecstatic ! I then had a technical issue with my GPS - Javier got on his bike disappeared for an hour and returned with a solution ! Perhaps it was because I dont speak Spanish or that I am not familiar with the workings of airports but I believe that without the assistance of Dakar Motors I would still be in the airport months later !!! Thank you both Javier & Sandra - i will be recommending you to all the bikers I know going to south America |

Our experience is the same as Jonno. Javier and Sandra helped my wife and I to clear 2 bikes through customs in BA in late November. They cleared a further 2 bikes for another couple the same day. They were fabulous, particularly Sandra who accompanied us every inch of the way until we were cleared to ride out the gates of the Customs area. The process is exactly as Jonno described.
Once we had confirmed shipping dates, Sandra and Javier were incredibly responsive by email. They were very accurate and precise in explaining what papers etc we needed to take - with their assistance and by following their instructions, the day itself at the airport was much easier. As regards DakarMotos cost, we paid $250 per bike. Like all things in life, different people will see different values in any service provided. We all have the power to choose. We chose to pay and I never regretted it for one moment. They made the day easy - had something gone wrong it could have significantly affected our trip. Others will choose not to pay. That too is fine, but there's no need to criticise Javier and Sandra's fees. Don't buy their service if it's not for you. We would use them again in a heartbeat. |
250 US per bike...to bad at least she could give to you some discount as she was making extra set off papers for a second bike at a same time...but on the other hand it is your money.

$250 may sounds a lot but the alternative is to spend DAYS what takes Sandra HOURS. Sandra got my bike cleared and un-crated in FIVE HOURS !! Some Irish guys who did it themselves took FIVE DAYS !!!
You may also pay more fees and charges as a tourist unless you can argue your case in fluent Spanish and know the system well. Sandra knows all the officials and you can usually get away with un-crating your bike and leaving the box behind at the Docks. ( I don't know if that is still the case) Do it alone and you may be told that you need to take the crate away and do it on the road etc. Try organising that... Also, add up what it costs you to stay those extra days ! Let alone THE STRESS OF IT ALL.... So if you work it all out, it's not really that bad. Of course, it is possible to do it all yourself. |

If you see yourself as such a great asset here on the Hubb, why didnt you put your shipping from Rio to Duesseldorf into the shipping database here on HU? Or can you only do two or three line posts? 250 Usd for a custom agent in BsAs is a normal price. Nobody said, that you have to take an agent, you can do it by yourself if an agent is too expensive for you. I agree with what Javier said: Your posts in the two threads about DakarMotos are useless.
